KI Technology Group began in 1982 as KI Software Corporation. In those days, we partnered with NCR Corporation to provide software solutions for small businesses around the country. We still have clients today who were clients in those early days.
So how did KI transition from a softwarecompany to KI Technology Group? You may recall that in 1999 we were all worried about what would happen to computers and software around the world when 2000 arrived. Many computer manufacturers took advantage of the situation to try to convince one and all that they must have new computers to have any prayer of surviving the transition. Our software clients wanted honest advice and they turned to us for the straight story. We were able to help them determine if they actually needed new computers, and when they did, most of them preferred to have us supply what they needed.
This was about the same time that computers started to get much easier to use. Unfortunately for a group of programmers, they also became more complicated and much more difficult to troubleshoot. Almost overnight networking PC’s became less expensive and much more reliable. We quickly found that we needed someone on our staff who could help us solve the issues our software clients were encountering.
So we added staff and our technical services division was born. Today, our team of network technicians manages networks for a variety of businesses in the Greater Lansing area. To hear what clients have to say, you can visit our client showcase.
We also have a team of repair technicians who deal with a variety of dekstop issues on machines that are brought into out store for repair. They are experienced in all type of repairs from failed hardware, to virus and spyware infections.
